Several years ago I owned a cracking little cob, Pentrepiod Casey or Tally to his friends. We had fun together and lots of laughs and tears. Inevitabley I grew up and met a boy and joined the world of the grown ups. It came at a cost. Tally had to go as we needed a deposit for a house.
On the day I loaded him up to be sent to a friends yard to be sold on I promised him that no matter what one day I would bring him home.
For the last five years I have been searching for my friend so as I could keep my promise and bring him home.
I got an email today from someone who knew his owner. My promise is broken, I will not be bringing him home.
He was pts in June due to severe laminitis.
The tears are runing down my face as I write this, and I even feel a bit guilty as I dont recall feeling like this when my horse of a lifetime CB was pts at the grand old age of 30! Maybe because I knew CB was at his end??
Sorry to witter on but its come as such a shock.

RIP PENTREPIOD CASEY.....Tally to his friends

Rip tally, sorry for your loss,it will be hard as it was a promise you couldnt keep(he would have been none the wiser),not for want of trying though you have that

!And i am sure he must have been well looked after in his previous home!

What an absolutely gorgeous horse.

It must be so sad for you, but you mustnt feel any guilt. If anything feel lucky to have known such a lovely boy who Im sure had a great life. x

Ditto, so sorry. You probably feel worse as you had your heart set on this and it was not to be. Doesn't mean you thought any less of the other.
