I have posted before about my new pony. Herbie who is normaly known as horrid herbie. He is an 8yr old 12.3hh Forest bred and I am his 6th owner already

. He was very cheap as he has loads of problems. Anyway i can now bring him in from the field without to much argument and i can groom him without him trying to kick and bite me all the time. But i was soooooo happy with him today. I have been working on lunging him while the weather has been to bad to ride. It normaly takes us 1 hour to even get a trot on one rein but today he had a small tantrum at the start but then lunged in walk and trot on both reins

. I was so pleased with him. I had started to wonder if i was ever going to get anywhere with him and found myself wishing i had never bought him

. But i know days like today make it all worth it and he will be a nice pony in the end. Everyone else has just given up on him and not given him the time he needs. So now all i need is the weather to improve and i can start to tackle riding him again. But for today atleast i am thankful for small victorys. I just hope he continus to improve.
Sorry for the self indulgent post but i am so pleased to be making progress with this pony. Have something nice and chocolaty if you got to the end. ( calorie free ofcourse

Thankyou. I know it will all be worth it in the end and i finaly think he is starting to trust me. Today feels like the first real breakthrough we've had. I know there is going to be alot more ups and downs but with summer coming i hope i can do alot more work with him (if the weather ever improves).
