Today I had a jumping lesson on an absolutely smashing horse. This horse had a lovely attitude in the arena and had an absolutely fabulous canter.
You know the sort of canter which you can feel is round and balanced and positive and a really nice feel down the rein.
He had a really lovely attitude to jumping quite bold and forward but not silly, felt quite positive as he focussed and locked onto the fence he was jumping.
He cut the corner a couple of times and I had to give quite a tweak on the right rein to ride him large into the corner before turning to jump across the diagonal.
Having done that once when we repeated the exercise he automatically took the correct line because he knew what was expected of him.
Yes he was without doubt a stonkingly good horse to have a jumping lesson on and really helped me focus on getting a good jump position and who was the brilliant steed? It was Drifter !!! Yipee Dooh.
Gushing bit now Instructor says he is looking incredible he is building up muscle in the correct way has a lovely attitude to his work and I am doing a really good job in building a rapport with him.

Fantastic - see, you're happy, he's obviously happy, all good! And as for your previous post about not giving him enough to do or not competing - by the sounds of things (jumping lessons) you're hardly leaving him bored and sat dreaming of his Badminton aspirations

.

Really pleased for you, sounds lots of fun - and even nicer when it's your work making it happen.

Sounds like you both had such a fun time. I think Drifter likes his jumpies from the sounds of it, best keep it up =)
