And absolutely loved it!!!

We were warned it would be quite a slow meet as a lot of fields hadn't been cut yet, it started off slow and ended with us galloping across the biggest stubble field ever. We were going flat out, I've never been that fast before but just went with everybody else and we flew! Must remember to shut mouth when galloping as the cob in front of me kicked up a big bit of mud and it went straight into my mouth mid gallop... hehe.

There must have been a good 40-50 horses out and everybody was so so kind. I was white as a sheet when I set off but once we got going absolutely loved it.

We even popped a few logs, went through water (horse hates water normally but didn't even look at it!) and had to negotiate a bank- a first for both me and the horse!! First time round it took a few attempts but on the way home he jumped it first time much to my surprise and jump off a bit funny, cue me hanging round his neck, a*se in the air and got a stubble rash on my chin from his hogged mane!! hehe I was very nearly a faller but managed to stay on!!

I had the most fantastic day and can't wait to go again, am shattered now but still on a high!!

Sounds great! The bug bit me a few weeks ago. We're out again tomorrow.

Really looking forward to it. Hunting can be quite addictive.

Totally agree about it being addictive! Been out twice in the last week and out again tomorrow. Ours started off at a gallop and finished that way but it was sooo much fun! Can't wait for tomorrow! :D

Hows the stubble rash??. As your riding companion for the day, you were an absolute star!!! You kept relaxed, went with the flow, was courteous to all other riders and took to it like a duck to water. So happy that you loved it and lets all look forward to a fantastic season.
See you soon Bakewell!!!
Loads of love

Good for you - both you and the Ned had a lovely time, learnt a lot and came home safe. Now you have "the bug", you just will not be able to stop yourself. I have been hunting since 1956 and still feel iggy the morning of the Opening Meet. Have a wonderful season. We all need new people such as you to spread the word. Have fun!!
