I am a victim of ghastly pointy out toes when i ride.

I have been told my right ankle is quiet week and is a lot worse than my left, i think from an old injury. Because my feet turn out will this mean im not using my lower leg correctly?

I know where are a lot of stirrups out there with tilted bases, strap holes to the sides ect and i just wondered what the point of these are, would a specific stirrup aid my ankles?

I used to be like this.
I find it's worst when I'm trying too hard and my ankles / lower leg are tense.
Think about relaxing your ankles (specifically the area around your outside ankle bone).
Also think about dropping your little toe. I found it best practicing this when out on hacks and my brain isn't clogged up with trying to ride correct circles and transitions etc.
I've never tried any of those fancy stirrups. I'd say my pointy toes are pretty much banished now.

IME it was coming from my hip, opening and being more relaxed at the hip and stopping gripping my toes sorted themselves out.

I do use sprengers but that is more for other bits of my body!
