Well I thought we were all over this! I have an 18 month old terrier - she has always been good on the toilet training - but in the last week we seem to have reverted to worse than when she was a puppy!

About 5 times out of the last week I have come down in the morning to find a mess - I don't understand - about three weeks ago we did change her food but that is the only thing that has changed she is fed once a day about 5pm and is taken out last thing at night before we go to bed - we are up quite early in the morning about 7 and she goes straight out and does her business. It is not wees just poos!

I am at my wits end as I feel like we have reverted backwards. She knows she has done wrong and literally is flat to the ground when I get down here. It is not like she asks to go out in the night and we ignore her- never her a peep out of her!! Any ideas as it is getting me so down!!!

I would firstly rule out a water infection and then go back to basics..it's not uncommon for dogs to take a step back in regards to toilet training esp terriers they are a little more work to begin with in the toilet training stakes.....try confining her to a smaller space, she is less likely to urinate in the immediate space in which she is confined, if u have anything that can contain her , large cardboard box ,e,t,c use it if not try a crate.
Maybe something has disturbed her routine and she is awaking earlier.
Another thing...it is ulikely she is cowering because she has urinated..it's your body language she is picking u on, she is assosiating your arrival with a poss telling off as she has before.
