thoughts on this appreciated -

my pup is now 15 months and some may recall I had a hell of a time getting her dry! She was crated from day one as have all our dogs been but she would just wet her bedding, even if she had not long been out and peed. She also drank excessively. We had many tests done at the vets and anything physical was ruled out, other than mild juvenille vaginitis, the vet saying she would probably grow out of it after her first season.

Well the season duly came at 11 months and wow, what a difference:D She is now able to stay overnight in the back of the pickup truck with the other dogs and not wet the vet bed:rolleyes: And she progressed to a very very large crate - one we had made and she stays dry in this, ive positioned it next to the kennels (which are within a building) of my other dogs. My kennels dont have outdoor runs and the dogs dont toilet in them, Im home all the time so they are out with me most of the time. All our others have transitioned well from being brought up using a crate and then gone into a kennel, and stayed clean.

I would very much like her to share a kennel with one of my other bitches as they get on very well, however 24 hours in with her and she is back to peeing everywhere again. I thourghly scrubbed and cleaned the kennel before putting the 2 of them in together and yet she is going up on the bed/bench and peeing:rolleyes: Clearly this is going to be a long transition that i hoped:o Am worried leaving her is going to undo the progress we have made but another part of me wonders if I should give it more of a chance or that maybe Ive just moved her too quickly..

cayla am particulalry hoping you see this and can advise;)

I wonder if she is very sensitive and the slightest of change sets her off. (very possible)
I take it the kennel she was in was the same set up with no run?
I would out of interest take a quick urine sample for testing, I would doubt it would be that but I would rule it.
Does this shelf have any room to fit plastic beds side by side together on it? as in to fill the actual shelf both sides so the other bitch then also lies in one with their beds in the shelf (what bedding do they have)?
I say this as a friend of mine had the shelf and same issue, the dog had a run though, it just chose to urinate and crap:o on the raised wooden bed she had in the kennels, so I advised he fill the shelf with something that may make her think twice about weeing on it and see it as more of a bed, a plastic bed was chosen and she stopped.
Could you also place a DAP collar on her? incase she is a little stressy to change.

thanks cayla, knew you would have something good to suggest! I left them last night and having cleaned out again before bed, the kennel is dry this morning, whoop! Not counting my chickens yet though, knowing her. Yes thats a great idea re the beds. They have vet bed on it just now but it gets dragged off/peed on as well:o She is a more stressy type as well so you could be right about the change. Will keep the dap in mind as well. thanks again
