luckily it lived to tell the tale
Walking down the field to turn Bob out, dogs in one hand, Bob in the other hand. I noticed a tabby cat walking across the open field, so I made sure that I had a firm hold on the dogs leads....
Got to Bob's paddock, manoeuvered through the electric fence gate with dogs, horse & horse feed....only to find the bl**dy cat had walked over to me
Managed to get Bob's headcollar off and put his feed out so that was him dealt with, then had to hold the greyhounds by their collars as the cat tried to wrap itself around my legs
Flick is not so bad with cats, but Islay hates them with a passiion and to her the only good cat is a dead one
She doesnt care if they dont run, she will finish them off anyway
So I had the dogs in each hand whilst I am trying to kick the cat to make it go away...then Islay lunged at it and got a mouthful of fur....thank god the stupid cat got the message then and spat at her then wandered off
I did admit to the YO as it is their cat, but I do wonder how cats little brains work - was the greyhound whining, yelping and straining at the collar not sufficient sign that it was about to die
Thank god it all turned out OK
