Due to the heavy fall of snow, and the ice at the yard, we decided it was best to leave the little welshie where he is.
a) its a non essential journey and having a novice 7.5 tonner driver drive the box, although I would be in with them, is not ideal to ask them to drive a horse box with a horse on for the first time in the snow - and anyway the gamekeeper has said he would have to walk him to the main road for us to load him - and thats about a mile and a half.
b) its too much of a risk to the horses he would be going out with, and to him whilst being introduced to a new herd - and i would never fogive myself if one of the oldies slipped over in the snow.
so it will probably be another week or two before he comes home
