Not at all. Check your stirrups though, unless it's just the angle of the photo they look like they may be a bit old and bending, and old stainless steel ones can snap at the shoulder as I've found to my cost when a fillis iron broke on both sides as I mounted. You might need to change to different ones now you are older and heavier.

Lovely pony ?

If I lost weight would my height be ok? I gained quite a bit in lock down last year. How much do you think I should try to lose? I’m 5ft 7

Are you sure I don’t want him to be uncomfortable and still want to be able to ride him x

Yes I'm sure. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. Trying to lose weight at 15 when you are a perfectly OK weight at the moment can lead down some very dark alleyways. You're beautiful as you are, please, please just accept that you're growing out of your childhood pony.

Side on picture I would still say no as I think the body protector makes you look heavier than you are. To work out if you are too heavy weigh yourself holding your saddle and it should be 15-18% of his body weight a weigh tape will be close enough

My childhood pony was 12.2hh and I’m 5’4”, about the same build as you. I kept her until the end of her life and still rode her well into her (and my) 20’s. I wouldn’t have done jumping or ridden showing, but had many happy years galloping round the countryside. The best thing you can do if you want to keep him comfortable is to make sure you are the best rider you can be. You could be a tiny little thing and still feel heavier for him than a bigger, well balanced rider.
