I can't decide if I should leave my cobs feathers on or clip them off, Sometimes I just want to cut them off but then I think will I regret it as they look so nice when they have just been washed and brushed.

So what do you prefer? feathers or no feathers?

I think unless they are really thick and full feathers then chop them off! I love seeing horses with proper full feather and it can draw so much positive attention to their legs. However unless its thick and good quality it can also make their legs just look messy and untidy. Their legs will looks alot better and more defined when they are clipped when compared to having 'half' feathers.

By full thick feathers I mean this - http://www.gypsymvp-uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/gypsy-vanner-stallion-feather1.jpg
And the 'half' type - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3003/2751409294_0108b2c7a0.jpg?v=0

Have you got any pictures of your fellas feet?

I LOVE feathers, so my answer will always be leave them on!
Even though my boy is currently sporting the feather dreadlock look I still love 'em, just can't wait till the mud dries up so I can wash them and get them looking b-e-a-utiful!

depends on the horse , if hes a very heavy draft type then leave them on but if hes a light weight cob Id clip them off
the pig oil works wonders

If they are manky, chop off. Otherwise leave on. Most of the time horses w/feathers look strange without them...at least that is how it looks to me

I took a photo of his feathers this morning, they have not been washed or brushed :o but here they are -
