Too good to be true? what do you think of this mare?

mr day seems quite nice, he posts on here.
i went to see something of his about a year ago, wasn't right for me but he showed me a few others which i quite liked, generally steady neddy

Crikey her price has doubled! Two days ago she was on there for £745. The advert read a bit differently though - it explained she was an ex polo pony, and that they wanted to her to go to a hacking only home (nothing about shows etc) and they certainly didn't want her jumping

. My friend called and enquired last week, and was told that she had a small injury so really only good for walking/a bit of trotting out on hacks. Apparently the price was so low so that they could vet home as wanted her to go somewhere nice. Very odd that ad has suddenly changed! Also phone number is now two mobiles, previously it was a landline and a mobile. I wonder if a dealer has bought her and is trying to shift her on quick.

oh dear two completely conflicting posts? Are you sure its the same mare? she looks a bit too thick set to be a polo pony?

oh gosh ok thank you, i have only just looked at the advert myself but the twins looked weeks ago so maybe there has been some confusion with pics? Mr Day if you are on here please can you shed some light?

Just had a nose at other adverts from J Day and there is another much cheaper horse that has previously been a polo pony and that they want a loving home for. This is probably casuing confusion as one of the pictures has been taken on the same road as the mare you are looking at.

Very much doubt that mare has ever been a polo pony (other than PC maybe) as she is too chunky really. I think she looks sweet for what you want.

I looked at that other ad too matafleur, but it was definately a mare my friend called about, and was told it was an ex polo pony. Pictures were identical, and price was 745 not 795 (as ex polo gelding).

I know nothing about the person selling the horses though - perhaps it was a genuine mistake, or he had another similar mare a few days ago? I have had no dealings with him (other than friend calling) so can't make a judgement based on that.

is the link to the £795 ex polo pony

[/ QUOTE ]

That link is a different horse to the one my friend called about - the horse she called about was a mare, was £745 and had the same pictures as the other mare (now for £1500). The wording was different to both, said in the ad that mare could not be jumped etc.

Perhaps he had a couple of ex polo ponies and sold the mare my friend called about? It was definately a mare though, not a gelding.

we also paid for a sex change, the polo pony is a gelding for 795, the Mare is 1500, of course the ads will be different. do you not think there may be more than 1 bay 15.1 out there with a star.

Please read the adverts carefully before you come here and start critising.

at the end of the the this is my business, my income, my job, my way of life.

we live in difficult times, how would you like it if i turned up at your work and slagged off the way you do things to anyone who listens.
