Too much grass, topping advice please

I have a paddock that wasn't grazed until a month ago resulting in there being way too much grass in there. We want to top it but to top we usually use a finishing mower to cut the fields but only cut them when there resting.

So question is is it safe to use a finishing mower on the fields whilst they're being grazed?

Sorry can't help with your question - but just to say please send us grass!! We have brown scorched earth & are feeding haylage it's only June!
