and at the end of the day

He's actually a registered part bred arab hence the pulled mane but this was a miniature show (yes he's a registered miniature too), hence not being plaited or quarter marks.

He won
International Standard Miniature and qualified for The Royal London Show
Open Spotted and qualified for the Royal London Show
Best Movement

He then got Reserve Champion. The pony which was champion went on to take the supreme........ the reserve supreme was a very badly turned out Shetland with very dodgy conformation being led by a 3 year old being accompanied by her mother. They had won the class for pony judge would most like to take home and then took the championship in the 'fun' classes. Morris won 2 'breed' classes plus best movement. This was a 'breed' show. He should have been reserve supreme - half a dozen or so people outside the ring said so. Do you know the clincher - the real icing on the cake - the judge used to own the Shetland......... but had I complained I would have looked like a right sour grapes old cow.

But bless him, he really enjoyed himself as he hasn't left my yard for two years and has only ever been to two shows in his life!

No I didn't breed him but I've had him for 3 1/2 years. He is Darkhorse Mystro so bred by the Darkhorse stud. He's a Falabella x Caspian x Arab.

Well done, you must be very proud. It's lovely when they perform well, he looks like a super chap! Are you going to the Royal London Show then??

Not sure as I am already committed to judging that day but I just route mapped it and it is only 2 1/2 hours away so maybe if I can find another judge....;O))

I don't know the pony's name - maybe you do?..... he was a stunning palomino stallion from the Oakways Stud.

What do you think of Morris?

Morris looks fab!!!! Lovely.

was it from Oakleigh stud?? If so it will be Cathys reigns - Little Kings Russian Reigns. She has only just imported it from America, big bucks! :) Think she won last time??

Sorry yes it was Oakleigh and yes now you mention it the ladies name was Cathy. She was really nice and very complimentary about Morris.

Cathy is lovely, really nice woman and has some lovely horses. Ive just had a little mare over for covering that was bred by her. Annoying isnt it when you feel you should have done better. Come to Royal London, me and stinks will be there and a few friends. We always have a fab time! :)
You must have qualified for MHOYS too??

My friend said that he had won two qualifiers and I took it to mean both were the Royal London. I will have to look in the lorry to see if we have qualfied for MHOYS as well!!!

I'm committed to judging the weekend of Royal London - arabs and miniatures funnily enough, so I would need to find a replacement judge. I'd feel bad because they booked me months ago.

Sharon has invited me to the judges seminar they are organising with Cathy sometime in September.

Am almost 100% positive you have qualified for MHOYS. I think all Sharons classes were qualifiers but they have taken the schedule down so cant check. they usually are. Also check youve not qualified for MHCGB champ show too as some were qualifiers for that.

just found schedule... classes 1-7 RL and MHOYS qual ( think you won class 7? ) and classes 8 - 14 RL and MHCGB ( not sure you did any of those? )

Soooo looks like you qual for MHOYS! so make sure you are an IMHPS member and get to MHOYS!!!

Just looked on their website and that is the pony that got the supreme.

Yes we won class 7. Like you said they have removed the schedule so I can't check the other ones but no we didn't do any of the MHCGB - I think they only go up to 34" don't they.

When is MHOYS?

Mo is, depending on how he is feeling when you measure him, either 39" or 40".

Mnnn will have to look at that because at the moment I don't have anything on that weekend. Do they have a website?

Website http://www.imhps.com/ If you click on the MHOYS 2009 page it will give you some idea of the classes they did last year.

IMHPS do classes under 34" and then 34"-42" and some like the colour classes are for all sizes under 42". If they do it the same as last year the first day is for miniature horses, the second shetlands.

I presume he is registered IMHPS?? and you will need to become a member to show :) Its a really good show :)

I've just been having a good nosy and there are a few classes he can do.

I can't find any rules stated anywhere so has he qualified for the show or just the one class?

And yep, he's registered with IMHPS.

Well done on those results and as you say the judge should not have judged the shetland as it had been owned by them - totally wrong and very unprofessional on their part.

That said, I have had this done to me at a show, and I just put up with it as it was not a huge show and the judge heard all the comments from outside the ring (from people I had never met) that it was a fix so I had to say nothing.

He is a lovely looking little chap with a bright future ahead for showing.
