Just a bit of fun, wondered what everyone's favorite 5 breeds are.
Personally, to have one of everything I love I would have about 50,000 dogs
grin.gif

Hmm
1) German Pointer- if I had the time, I'd have one.
2) Cocker Spaniels- proper working dogs
3) Springer spaniels- only if you get a good one, nothing worse than a springer that wont work.
40 Labs- older than 3years old that have been trained well, preferably Teal in another year.
5) JRT- come on, who can say no to Hattie dog, and she keeps my tackroom mouse free.
As you might have guessed im a big working dog fan, I love gun dogs and I love working my lot, I would never have a dog bigger than Hattie as a pet.

Joint 1st - GSP and Border Terrier. I think GSP's are just gorgeous but I also think everyone should have a border terrier - they are FAB!!!

3rd - Grey hound/Whippet - always wanted one they are so pretty and calm

4th - Harrier - We have walked a lot as pups and they are great dogs, or hounds should i say!
smirk.gif

5th - Heinze 57!! In my experience they should be No. 1 but not really a breed!

WHIPPET-GREYHOUNDS...a cross of both is fab
grin.gif

GSDs..couldnt get a better large breed dog
smirk.gif

Well I have to say -
1. Hungarian Vizsla (because I have one)
and 2. English Pointer (because I have one)
then 3. Italian Spinone
4. Flat Coated Retriever
and 5. Dobermann (just to have a change from the gundog group)

1. Bavarian Mountain Hounds (my new pup!)
2. Border Collies (my old dog)
3. Staffie Bull
4. Jack Terrier
5. Springer Spaniel cause most of them are nuts!!!

!. German Shepherd (don't think I could ever live without one!)
2. Lurcher (never had one but love them)
3. Lancashire heeler (big dog in little clothing!)
4. Jack Russell
5. Just from seeing them on this forum, really like Innuits.

In no particular order cos I can't choose, love them all!

Foxhounds, particularly Old English type; easiest dogs to house train ever and always remember you!
Lurchers, preferably woollies but also like smooths (got 2 x W and 4 x S!!)
Border Terriers, have had and bred them for over 30 years, fabulous small dogs who act big!
Bassett Hounds; great lumps but fantastic characters, more athletic than you think if you give them the chance!
Greyhounds/Saluki's/Deer and Wolfhounds just because I drool when I see them!

5) Cane Corso

laugh.gif

4 - Greyhounds
5 - Salukis. I just think they're beautiful!

I should say mini schnauzers but the truth is I'm only a fan of my own Beastie.
grin.gif

1.British Inuit - of course!
2.GSD - but won't be having another because of health issues when they get past 8y.o
3.Dobes
4.Husky
5.Foxhound - so friendly, full of fun and provide me with my winters entertainment.

#1 Whippets (of course LOL)

#2 Chircone del'etna (sp) they look like muscular orange whippets
tongue.gif

#3 Borzois - the wierdest looking dogs in the world

#4 Border Collies - I would l so have one of these if I had some land

#5 - Flatcoat retrievers - my parents had one of these and she was the best family dog I've ever met.

I could go on, in fact I'm feeling a bit guilty towards all the dogs I've missed out especially Red Setters which I adore, Italian Greyhounds, Pappions, Manchester Terriers etc

1. Boston Terrier -- I'll leave it to the experts to describe why they're amazing dogs
laugh.gif
: "The Boston is gentle, alert, very intelligent, and well-mannered. Enthusiastic and occasionally rambunctious, this breed has a sense of humor. Most reliable with children, especially good with elderly people and very friendly with strangers."

2. Saluki. Think they're jawdroppingly beautiful.

3. Flatcoat Retriever. Again, gorgeous to look at, with the sweetest of natures. Don't like how they're so prone to cancer, though
frown.gif

4. Pitbull. A horrid, horrid rep, but I have yet to meet a bad one. Best dog I ever walked for the shelter was a Pitbull called Seymour. He had gentle kisses for everybody and used to try and sit on your knee, despite being enormous.

5. Manchester Terrier. Only met one, but got along with my dog fabulously, and looked like it would make a solid running companion.

4) Dogo Argentino - Lovely looking dogs!

[/ QUOTE ]
Wonderful with kids, great guard dogs... tend to run at people and affectionately knock them over like bowling skittles!

grin.gif

It's very tiresome seeing people scoop their dogs out of the way when you're taking one out for a walk...

1) Jack Russell Terrier - my 1st breed of my own (if that makes sense
tongue.gif
)
2) Joint: German Wirehaired Pointer and Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla - always had them
3) Great Dane - I will have one Harlequin one day!!
4) Dobermann - always look at them ring side and think WOW!
5) Cane Corso - my friend has one and I think she's beautiful (Kya that is not Lisa

)

And very interisting it was an American who mentioned them!
They seem to have a completly differetn reputaion over there, American friends are always suprises at how "we" view them this side of the pond!

LMAO!
Hard to weedle it down isnt it?
I am lucky (I thnk
tongue.gif
) to come from a very dog orianted(SP?) family....only downside is that it's a large family and every little "branch" has completly different dogs.
Being the one always asked to look after them when Aunts are away means I have fallen in love with soooo many, lol!

1) Would love a cane corso
2) Dogo argentino - they look so proud
3) Any of the other bull breeds inc staffy/english or pitbull
4) Rotti
5) presa canario (sp)

I like my dogs to be quick thinking, big boned and courageous, although most of my dogs are bAnned in britain so that would mean most people deem them dangerous too.

Well, I'm actually a Lancashire lass living abroad
tongue.gif
but my perception of them has changed completely since living here. My dog gravitates toward the Pits at the park and almost always my upstart is the one who calls the shots
grin.gif
Boston Terriers are a close relative to the Pitbull and they have virtually identical personalities, which is another reason I'm drawn to the breed.

Oooh, you probably like Japanese Tosas then? I met my first one at the park yesterday, and he was such a gentle, sweet boy. My Stella was mighty impressed, as his tackle was as big as her head

People almost strangle their dogs/kids trying to hoist them out of the way of my puppy
