Top riders to miss RIHS

The Coruna CSI 4* which offers €30,000 (just over £20,000)to the GP winner (whereas the King George V Cup at the RIHS has £15,000 1st prize), runs from 27 to 29 July, and British riders due to be there are:
John Whitaker
Robert Whitaker
Tim Stockdale
Robert Smith
David McPherson
Robert Maguire

Tim, Robert S, and David are all due to have their potential European Champs horses there. so form there may be important.
NB: Nick Skelton and Russel have replaced Duncan Inglis and Sunkist on the RIHS team.
 
I guess there will be better weather and ground out there? Then with prize money like that why would they go to RIHS!

So who's the team for RIHS?
 
I for one certainly wouldn't blame them for going to Spain instead of Hickstead! But doubtless there will be people who will be very sorry not to be seeing their favourites in action - assuming of course that the weather is ok for the show to run.

The RIHS team is: Geoff Billington with Cassabachus, Will Funnell with Mondriaan, Ellen Whitaker with Locarno 62, Michael Whitaker with Suncal Portofino 63, and Nick Skelton with Russel, replacing Duncan Inglis with Sunkist.
 
Nope, defiantly wouldn't blame them for going to spain!

In terms of RIHS, I think it will be a shame not to have those top names in the line up but equally it may gave some of the less known riders, or the young riders a chance to shine. I plan on going Friday anyway, just hope the weather holds off for it!
