I have started feeding my horse Top Spec feed balancer having fed straights for years!!!! He seems to be doing okay on it but I'm still not convinced being a bit of a bit of a straights fan, does anyone else feed Top Spec and do you feed anything else along side it like Top Chop? And is your horse doing okay on it?

hi ive been using top spec cond flakes to put on lots of condition but my horse is sooo unhappy and it has been suggested it might be gastric ulcers from the feed it tyes in on timescales

I put both mine on it a couple of years ago, and to be honest, found it very expensive without doing much - I didn't really notice any difference in their condition.

Pink Powder is fab as a balancer; and I feed Alfa-A Oil as a chaff, their coats are gleaming on this.

I feed Top Spec, with Alfa A.

This was her bucket feed last winter, alongside the hay. Although Star is a Coloured Native she is not a good doer and she looked fab.
And after the snow disappeared and we could get off the yard, she was so sane and calm. HEr coat was shiney, and considering the lack of turnout/exercise, she was in pretty good nick :D

If I need extrea calories, I just put some Speedibeet in with it.

Mine all get the Anti-Lam balancer (just in case - they are barefoot and on good grazing so this is a good option for us) alongside Hi-Fi Molasses Free and in winter the TopSpec Cool Cubes for extra condition.

Hi there,

A big thumbs up here for Top Spec! My very skinny TB is now looking the best he's ever looked (he has been a work in progress for some time due to various issues!).

It's not happened overnight, I started feeding Top Spec balancer, Cool Conditioning cubes, Alfa A and scoop sloppy sugar beet about 8 months ago now and the results are really showing themselves now. I don't feed any hard (cereals) feed as he's had ulcers in the past.

I know some people swear by Baileys and Blue Chip, but personally, I'm sticking with the Top Spec :)

If "Thatsmygirl" picks up on this, she is a mine of info on TopSpec - was really helpful when I was deciding what to put my boy on.

Their feed advice line is also really helpful (and friendly!).

Best of luck :D

Mines doing fab on it! He has the comprehensive balancer and the turbo oats. He has loads of energy for work, isn't silly or spooky at all and this may or may not be a coincedence (sp) but last year if he was last out he would gallop around getting very upset even breaking fences to get in. This year no probs at all, he's chilled and still grazing even when everything else is in, it's baffling but I'm not knocking it!!

I've tried this(& other balancers) & never found them that great. But loads of people I know swear by them! Do really rate the TS cool cubes though.
