We have changed our dogs onto dry good quality biscuits. They used to have biscuits with a tiny bit of meat mixed in for a bit of extra taste. There toilets have improved, and their breath has really improved. Overall we are happy with the biscuits but sometimes the dogs find them a bit boring. We are currently mixing a bit of fat free Greek yogurt in, I'm going to get some sardines in spring water for the occasional treat on top, is there anything else healthy and tasty I could add?

Make sure it's the dogs that find them boring and you aren't projecting your thoughts that biscuits are boring to the dogs.
I'm definitely guilty of that!! The lab will eat hers up but the parsons is not really keen. She was very keen when I added a bit of meat.

Soon she will be demanding meat with every meal, and then varieties etc, she is training you beautifully. Kibble down for 10 minutes then take it away and don't offer again till next meal, she will soon get the message.

I put meat with my dogs kibble, I use natures menu small pouches and they get a 3rd each , and they have a different flavour every day , I sometimes use tuna instead .. I had a lurcher who needed coaxing to eat and I’ve just carried on with my latest dogs and I’m sure they would eat it without a topper but it makes me feel better

Mine gets 2-3 spoons of tinned meat, usually something boar/venison based but with added water to make a runny paste. He's always been a bit rubbish as drinking so I like to think it helps. Plus, now he's a bit older and I think he prefers his food a bit damp.

Salmon oil which my two love, although they also get natural yoghurt. It’s tricky, my lot are very excited at dinner time. One of them doesn’t like chicken livers, his brother eats them up. Everything else is devoured with gusto.

You could use something like Butchers wet food in gravy. The gravy will mean a little should go a long way, so shouldn't be too much of a concern if it isn't as high quality as you would like.

Or, I havent used it, but CSJ do gravy granules that you can make up and then add to their dinners. I've not looked at the ingredients but maybe worth a look.

Greek yogurt, bits of veg (ours love brasicas, they get bits of cabbage, sprout peelings, brocolli stalks cut into lengths). They also like cucumber and carrot, apples, pears, banana, strawberries, blueberries - whatever we have in season really (obvs not grapes or other poison stuff). We usually wet the kibble down with a little warm water too. Or sometimes I will just chuck the dry ration on the floor or spread it around the kitchen/diner for our russell cross for her to find and hoover.

My dog has been on hypoallergenic food since December last year due to gastrointestinal issues she then refused the hypoallergenic food ate grass and made herself sick☹️ so I started to add a very small amount of Lilly’s kitchen wild campfire stew (venison pheasant and salmon) and she now licks the inside and outside of her feed bowl and is doing fab, I really rate Lilly’s kitchen as a healthy no additives wet food topper 👍

For my dog I find it better to feed wet food and dry separately, so she has Forthglade chicken in the morning but a good quality kibble available 24/7. But she is a whippet so not likely to stuff herself like some other needs.

I have never fed just dry kibble, even adding a little warm water releases the juices. I feed part kibble and part Naturo wet food, slightly cheaper than Forthglade but similar. Lots of help on Allaboutdogfood.

Envious of those with dogs who eat kibble… I could put beluga caviar on biscuits and mine would still just pick it all out and leave the rest 😒

Same here. I presoak Daisy's kibble and add a little meat (usually Butchers) for breakfast.
