Topspec balancers - differences?

I currently have two horses on my yard on TopSpec Balancers

One is a young sports horse mare, currently turned away for the winter, seems to be a good doer. No shoes. On TopSpec Cool Balancer.

The other is a young cob gelding, medium work, no shoes, never been overweight but a very good doer. On TopSpec AntiLam.

What, if anything, is actually the difference between these two balancers?

Would kinda like to only have to buy one bag between these two horses as they are taking up feedroom space!

You really need to check out the website for this info http://www.topspec.com/

I feed Shy on Topspec Light, which has the lowest sugars and starches in their product range, and is designed for fatties (and has a hoof supplement). Shy really is doing very well on it, and he loves it. He had a lami scare last year.

I know a lot of peeps will disagree, but I've found this to be the best balancer of those I've tried (and the same price £25).

I found them really good when I needed advice - more info than in their leaflet.

Why are you asking (being nosey sorry) - are you impressed with the horses that are on it ?

Yes they are both doing very well, but I am not sure the cob needs to be on the much more expensive antilam ... mainly because I am not sure what's so much more special about that balancer compared to the other.

Would consider the comprehensive as well for both as have used that in the past ... Guess I really do need to have a chat with them!

My retired mare and gelding who is currently hunting are on topspec lite - I phoned and had a good chat with topspec - they were lovely and basically topspec comprehensive has slightly more for building topline but most natives/cob types dont need the higher levels. I tried the cool balancer which actually made my gelding a little loopy but have to put that down to co-incidence after talking with them. No idea about anti-lam though.

Really happy with topspec lite so sticking with it ! if in doubt give them a call they were great.
