I am a blue chip fan but also trying topspec-feee bag.
I add it to the normal feed. I do use it on the sick and elderly hence normal amount of food. Blue chip makes a huge difference to an old mare. A vet once told me its no good. I took her off it for a while but not long as it was obviouse it was the Blue chip.
Have not tried it on a 'normal' horse so don't know hpw you would feed. I would start off adding it bit by bit to normal feed and adjust feed accordingly when you see an improvement.
My old mare gets fed Baily's stud mix, Alpha A and blue chip. It suits her. I feed by eye and what suits the horse best.
Probably of no help but just wanted to say it works, i would like to feed it to them all if we had the funds.

I feed Topspec with speedi beet, alfalfa, redigrass and oil to my 'used to be skinny' ex racer....... he's done very well on it.

Their conditioning cubes and super conditioning flakes both really work as well

I use top spec, on both mine. brood mare, and show jumper. Both look fantastic. There on scoop of alfa a, and a mug of top spec. My brrodmare was in poor condition as her foal took it out of her but now looks great.

I feed Top Spec balancer on top of normal diet. So Top Spec Cool Conditioner, HiFi Lite and then a cup of balancer. He's never looked so well.

I believe that the Blue Chip balancers have a higher fat content that the Top Spec one (if thats of any interest)

TopSpec for my old boy ! 3/4 sc 16+ cubes. 1 sc chaff, 1/2 sc sugarbeet + oil. He has wintered very well this year.Have had him on TS for about 4-5 years now.

Blue chip original

2 TB's - they get the recommended dose for their weight together with 1 stubbs round scoop of nuts (feed merchants own brand) and 1 round scoop of Hi Fi for one, 1/2 round scoop for the other (he leaves the feed if he has too much hi fi). This has been their first winter on it and they have both come through brilliantly well. Usually at some stage during the winter they have dropped condition and looked terrible, but not this year. They had that feed twice a day until roughly a month ago, now down to one feed in the evening.

Oh and ad lib haylage.

We have been delighted with the results and have actually saved money by using blue chip rather than all the supplements that we used to use plus build up mix. The only supplement on the shelf these days is cortaflex.

Mine has TopSpec Balancer and Condition Flakes alongside Pure Grass and sugarbeet.

I used Blue Chip for many years but the difference when we went over to TS products was dramatic! Such an improvement. (And its a bit cheaper!)

TS feed balancer (600g day), plus TS cool and condition cubes (2 scoops day), Alfa A Oil (2 scoops day) seems to suit Pidge

He certainly looks very well

Have only recently upped the cubes and Alfa A Oil as he was looking a bit on the lean side, but he is 17hh ISH in a fair amount of work

Mine has been on topspec for a while now. I feed 500g a day with Comp mix in the summer to give him all he needs for good feet and coat, without too many calories!! In trhe winter he has half the recommended amount of Topspec as he gets 2.5kg of Endurance Mix a day which is balanced in its self, but just keep him on TS for his feet!! He looks fab all year round on it though

my own gets a cup of blue chip original a day in with sugar beet, chaff and 16+. Have had him on it about 6 months and the difference is noticeable-hes put on about 40kgs and looks generally better and more muscled. Its pricey but worth it
