I have just started giving my horse topspec but does anyone know how much to feed her from a small scoop?? I have nothing to weigh it with so i thought i would ask if anyone knew on here before i go out and buy something as i know a few of you feed it.

She is 17hh so needs the biggest measurement which is about 650kg off the top of my head.

if it's the feed balancer it's 10% of the horses bodyweight per day - ie 650kg horse = 650gramms feed balancer.

Give D&H a ring Kelly, they have bucket type scoops with weight markings on it. they will send you one they did me! Its for their balancer but works the same. I feed about 1cm off the top of that for Red so Senza would probably need the full bucket BUT Red is a big lad so maybe the same as what Red has!!

For now just use 2 heaped coffee mugs

Take some home and put it on the kitchen measuring scales and measure it in terms of mugs then use mugs for measuring!!

I used to use one of the small "handy scoop" things a day for my 16.1hh boy, and that was round the 500g mark.... so you need to be feeding bout 1 and a quart scoops a day.... best bet is to get some kitchen scales thoygh to measure ho much your scoop holds....

topspec provide a cup to measure it, ask at the place where you bought it as they keep them "behind the till" so to speak ...
