Torn laminae

Anyone got any experiences of this (from trauma not laminitis?). Just had to get the vet out to my horse who came in hopping lame this morning and he thinks hes torn the laminae in the back of his hind hoof from cavorting around his field last night, silly boy. Never heard of this before, but the vet didnt seem to think it was serious, unless he gets a haematoma there

i think the word to hold onto is the vet "thinks" he has torn the laminae, unless you have had him scanned or MRI it is not a diffinative diagnosis! follow vet advice which i imagine is box rest and NSAIDS, and see what progresses!. hope its just an abcess or something more straightforward.
