My new horse (a tb just out of training!) has had 8 weeks of becoming a 'normal horse' mainly turning out daily with a handful of 30 min hacks at walk and trot!
Couple of weeks ago I noticed a lump on the side of his rump approx 4" by 2" which was almost fluid like very soft - gradually its hardened and ive noticed he is a little stiffer on that back leg but not lame - there is no heat in the legs but after a hack the other day the actual lump was burning hot!
I can only think its a muscle tear - probably from having a hoolie in the field - any suggestions? thank you
