After my previous post, i now have the opposite problem. For those that didnt see my previous post, my mare has returned back to work after being used as a broodmare, she kept putting her head down yanking me forward.

Now, she keeps tossing her head up and down, particularly in trot, making it so difficult for me to ride her properly. When i halt, the head tossing stops.

This morning when i rode, i jumped off and put her on the lunge to see if she did it without me on her, and she didn't - head was normal on the lunge.

As said before, she has white discharge coming out of her nose and makes a noise. I don't know if these are connected or not.

Vet coming next week but in the mean time does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

It could be pain or discomfort in her back because of the back itself or saddle. I used to have a TB who would do the same head tossing when he was tired and his back sore after a long hack/work or hunting.
