Total Contact Saddles, options please

Hi, has anyone ever ridden in a Total Contact Saddle ?
(basically bareback with stirrups!)
i am considering trying one on my arab as so far i cannot find any saddle that will stay on his very wide, broad back without either sliding off sideways or slipping forwards over his shoulders.
your opinons would be greatfully received, good and bad.

I haven't tried one of these, however I have ridden in one of the torsion treeless saddles, they are lovely. The horse I rode was also an arab.

I suppose the good thing about any treeless saddle would be that you could buy one seconhand from ebay etc, therefore if they are no good you wont have lost a fortune and have a pretty good chance of selling it on. I would never dare buy a treed saddle unless from my trusty sadle fitter.

torsion treeless I have ridden quite alot using one of these and "normal" saddles and dont rate the torsion ones.

I have someone coming out to give a demonstration of the Total Contact saddle next Monday. Just hope my horse is fit again by then

Worth a punt as they are very cheap

However on a horse with no withers, I would be surprised if these don't also slip round.
