Moorland's Totilas is the rising star on the global dressage scene, and today, he exceeded expectations with his silver medal win.
The international Grand Prix stallion is truly is a dressage phenomenon with his keen desire to perform, physical resilience, and unlimited athletic ability. Bred by Jan and Anna Schuil of Broeksterwoude in Friesland province, the black Gribaldi son is out of the renowned Freiminka-line, an influential dam-line which has produced many sport horses. In addition to his excellent bloodlines, Totilas, who is registered to Moorland Investments BV, has demonstrated exceptional talent. In 2005, he finished fourth in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the five-year-old division under Jiska van den Akker. Later, Edward Gal took over the reins and carefully continued training the stallion. In 2008, Totilas swept several competitions, out-performing even his toughest competitors. In 2009, he emerged the winner in Zwolle, De Steeg, and Rotterdam. When Totilas enters the arena, spectators fall into awed silence. This was certainly the case in Hickstead where Totilas was victorious again. His first international show outside the Netherlands could not have been better. And now, after defeating strong international competition in the European Championships for dressage and winning the silver medal, the KWPN has granted Totilas recognized status for his demonstrated success at the highest level of competition.
In connection with his new status as a KWPN-recognized stallion, future foals sired by Moorland's Totilas will be registered in the premier book, The Foal Book. The stallion's veterinary report will be published in In de Strengen.
