On any other forum I probably wouldn't get away with this kind of explicit detail!
My maiden filly has just over 3 weeks until her due date and she has bagged up really well. She is a little unsure about her physical changes and where she was once ok with being touched all over, she is now increasingly sensitive in the belly and booby areas. I have only had her back a week - If I had known she was in foal I would have been doing this before she started to bag up, but I have missed a vital stage, the springing of the udders. Since she has been home I have been touching her all over a couple of times a day to try and de-sensitise her. It doesn't seem to be having much effect though as she is still lashing out at me
I need to get her through this barrier before her foal arrives, as she really is uber sensitive there and may possibly kick the foal off. I will keep going with the touching and the tickle stick (bendy pole with lots of wadding and a glove on it as I really would like to keep my ears a bit longer), but has anyone got any other ideas? (anything is worth a try).
