Sorry to post another rug thread - but it is my first!

Our big cob is a total rug-wrecker. He has just shredded yet another rug, sooooooo... we need to find an ultra tough rug, but without an ultra-high price tag! He is very broad. Any ideas please?

I am on a roll tonight, bad weather outside and nothing on TV!!

Just started using a Masta SRT this week, was very VERY lucky and won it in a competition last year.

Decided to keep it until my GG wrecked his other rug! The SRT is a heavyweight turnout. Had to use it this week as GG managed to rip his medium weight one.

Anyway on getting it out of the bag it's made from a much, much tougher looking material than his old Masta and Weatherbeeta rugs. It fits really well and I like the idea that the front has trigger clips so quick and easy to fit they are very chunky and look good quality. Only thing is it's slipped to the left the last 2 days but maybe I haven't got the leg straps fitted correctly?? It has nice reflective strips on it so good for locating GG on wet dark nights! Has a draw string thingy at the back so it can be adjusted to fit round his bum! Weatherbeeta seem to fit him better than his old Masta but this new one seems a better fit round neck and shoulders. He's a 16.1 cob.

As i have just started using it can't comment on how well it will stand up to wear and tear maybe you could ask the question on here if anyone has had one for a year or more. They are not cheap though and the neck cover is about the price of a complete light weight rug! But the old Masta one fits this rug.

I can never understand that one, how can a neck cover be almost the price of a whole rug????.....

Thanks.
jen1, we are actually fans of Masta rugs, but most of ours are pretty old, but will certainly look into one. Fortunately we don't use neck covers. I could never figure out the prices of neck covers either

Is he shredding them on a barbed wire fence? Cat used to have his rugs in ribbons in days, but after we electrified the fence his new rugs went 2 winters without so much as a scratch. Amazing.
