Went to the Tower Farm Saddlers sale today and practiced amazing self restraint!

Came out with what I went there for, a full cheek waterford bit (10%off too!), a string cooler (£6!), a purple fleece cooler, a fly mask, Kevin Bacon hoof oil, some mane detangler, some feed and my one mad impulse buy was a blue Horselyx. Got some bell boots as my free gift!

What I WOULD HAVE bought today had money been no object was a black show jacket, some Ariat paddock boots (which were on sale, boo-hoo!), a posh white dressage numnah, a pink sparkly saddle cover, a pink shavings fork, a pink fleecy stable rug and a 50% off Pessoa bridle.

Did anyone else go?

lol - that's a saddlers from the past for me!

I used to work there! About 12 years ago, when I was still at school. Loved it - used to hang about gazing at the long boots all day long....

I got a winter rug for my baby (£52) it's a combo one as well. A set of travel boots for my mare £20 (nice strong shires ones). New joddy boots for me (very comfy). And a few other bits n pieces. I chose a hoof pick as my free gift as I keep loosing them! First time I have been to the rugby store, i usually go to Earls Barton. Rugby store is huge. I got there at 9.15 on Saturday and was already really busy!

I was going to buy a half price pessoa bridle but they didn't have any in Cob size in brown with a flash noseband.

I went both days! Oppss sat i just brought combo turnout for my grey in the hope to keep her cleaner this winter! Then i felt guilty when i got home for not buying my old boy a new rug so went back as was going to see a pony we sold over that way and ended up buying a saxon combo and fleece for him. Got tempted to buy feed and rubber matting also lol.

Didn't think there sale was great though some things weren't as cheap as i had expected them to be although there feed prices seem a bit cheaper on mollichaff and a few other bits which surprised me.

I know, I couldn't believe the price of feed and the molichaff! They gave me the leaflet and it said that they will be holding the prices till 2009. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money to stock up on feed this week (the bag I bought was to tide me over until next week) and the distance it takes to go to Rugby from home, negates any savings I would make on feed.

I saw that rubber matting too and wanted it!

There weren't many sale breeches and jods in a 30L today, I guess most of them sold yesterday.

I was very well behaved and only spent £115!!! I succeeded in resisting the rugs, brushing boots, new bridle, random grooming brushes, new whip, gillet and stripy socks, haha!!

Went for a new riding hat and left with a new riding hat, three nummnahs (

) and a mint horselyx!!

I went on Saturday and was VERY restrained lol. Manged to get a pair of Caldene show jods fron the 'bargain' rail for £15. Only thing wrong with them was a slightly pulled thread just below the waistband at the back where its covered by the jacket anyway
