Does anyone do this successfully? I really would like to have my own topper but can't afford the full package of a quad as well, as lovely as that would be. So was wondering whether I could just hitch it onto my car. Not ideal I know but better than nothing I guess.

I do, ( well, with a truck, not a car, and a flail mower) so long as the topper is more or less level, it's fine. Would be more concerned about driving my car in 1st gear for so long, tbh!

I'm sorry, no clue as to model off the top of my head. It's slightly narrower than a mitsubishi l200 ( the tow vehicle ). Can look later if you like, but it's probably been replaced by a newer version, it must be at least 20 years old. Highly recommend them though, always starts first pull.

Thanks Rex I'll look on their website. Good to know that what I want to do is possible.

Better late than never, I hope! It's a Wessex TPH 1200 made in 1990, so a *bit* old than I thought! It is fab though, starts first pull, some of our fields are quite steep and it copes fine. I also use it for cutting down brambles and nettles.
