Towing car recommendations

As title. Looking to trade in my CRV which is fab, but I’d like a bit more weight allowance (2.5-3t) to have some company out riding with me from time to time. Preferably diesel, don’t mind auto or manual (is there a difference?!). Will also be my main vehicle so would rather avoid the big truck types for ease of parking in my little town! Budget of approx 10k.

I always say this but they are great cars and that’s a Ssangyong Rexton. They tow up to 3.5t and are easy to drive. You’ll get a newer model compared to the other popular makes too.

Have a look at a Rexton, but even a used one might be over your budget.
