Hi

I recently passed my towing test and have been offered the use of my friends trailer, I was wondering can I just hitch up and go or do I need some form of insurance? Do I need to inform my car insurance that my car will now be used for towing?
Any help appreciated as I dont have a clue what I need.

Thanks

You need to check your car policy to make sure you are allowed to tow with your car. You also need your friend to check her trailer insurance to make sure you are covered to use the trailer.

You would also need to make sure your car is capable of towing the weight of the trailer and the trailer is roadworthy (the drivers responsibility, not the owners), then you are set to go :)

Thanks for that. Im happy with the condition of the trailer and my car is able to tow up to 2800kg so I hope I'm right in thinking I can tow an ifor 505.

I'll get onto checking the policies.
