Firstly - sorry for this post as i know they are often done!

I passed my test after 'the' date so know i need to take an extra towing test....
BUT....
am i correct in thinking, i can tow a small trailer without the test? (ie, garden trailer etc?)

I have a horsebox... so dont need to tow a horse trailer, but i am thinking with time, i should maybe do my test and get rid of my box, but i'm in no rush, if i can indeed legally tow a little garden trailer, it would give me extra practice.

I bought yesterday a Land Rover Discovery 300 tdi (just incase someone has one and knows extactly what you can/cant do with the weight of that car etc).

am i also correct in thinking, that they changed the law again and now if you are learning to tow... you can only have someone who has sat the towing test rather than passed the 'normal' test prior to 1997?

Sorry, I can't help as I'm as old as the hills and don't need to know such stuff :(.

Just wanted to ask what happened with your mare that was/wasn't in foal?

i believe you are correct that you now need to have someone who has passed the trailer test to learn with, you can't just have someone with grandad's rights :p (or, now... simply parental rights ;):p)
i think you can drive a small trailer upto 750kg. Your vehicle certainly won't have problems towing.

You can have someone with Grandad rights sat next to you at the moment. The new law only applies to 7.5 tonne lorries (C). There is talk that it will be enforced for people towing trailers in the near future though.

Hi, She had lost the foal :( The stud (a local one) were appauling in their manner towards me, went back on the terms we had discussed etc. I had verbal abuse on the phone from them also!

I then ummed and arrrred what to do so my mare went to Country Farm to be inseminated by the wonderful arab H Tobago, sadly, just as she was ready to be inseminated he couldnt be collected from as he had an injuury. They stud couldnt AI with frozen so i went to collect her but was talked into using one of the studs walk in stallions - Furst Kiss. I brought my mare home last monday after she had a 40+ day scan showing a little heart beat ticking away :) So now she is wrapped in industrial cotton wool until next July! So it's a matter of keeping everything crossed!!!
