Its not a life or death journey but tomorrow morning i was planning on towing down one junction of motorway - about 30 min trip in total and its forecast to be 11mph which I know is nothing with 24mph gusts (its about double that here at the moment but its calming down by morning) I would hopefully go down on the motorway one junction - very stead speed and come back on the back roads as although still only 24mph gusts where I will be going it will reach 30mph gusts at home by time i am coming back.

Would you go ? with all this rubbish weather I dont know if I am losing persepective on it all !

Car is 3 litre diesel bmw x5 and one horse in equitrek space trekka so very solid.

poo, poo, poo !!! I know you are probably right !

I am all ready to go so maybe another look at the forecast before bed just in case it improves - crosses fingers hoping for a drop in the wind !

That will be two outings in a week I will have missed - not to mention the fact that 50% of the field and all the yard was under water this morning !!!!!

cheers guys, decided to give it a miss - there is always next time. Yard and field is still underwater tonight so no chance of nice clean pony for tomorrow morning . Would really have need to be motorway on way down as v early start !

Roll on Saturday !

That's assuming your meet is actually going ahead - I spent the afternoon clipping and cleaning tack, to come back in the house to get an email re cancellation due to flooding.

It was bad enough that the summer was screwed up by the weather, but now it is spoiling Autumn too - I am getting seriously fed up of it now...........

I know what you mean !! I got back to the field tonight expecting the water levels to have dropped but it was still flooded - field and yard !! so instead of a lovely early crisp mornings autumn trailing I will be digging a run off to my rean to try and get rid of the water ! yipppee

on other hand it could be worse !! firemen pumped out the bungalows which were flooding at the back of my friends field and decided it was a good idea to pump out through the hedge .... into her field !! apparently it was knee deep as the yard was already flooded !

on the up ! it cant get much worse ! surely we must be due a nice crisp dry winter !

We drove up from Southampton to Durham on Monday, it was a nightmare, got home to find the barn flooded again, I have been soaked to the skin for two days now, I am seriously considering moving somewhere sunny, at least it would be warm rain

I currently have 3 coats that were wet through and have just dried in the garage ! welly boots back in use for the winter and had to have heating on for an hour yesterday - horses also in overnight due to ponds in fields !!! yehhhhhhhh

on the up side, with winter comes hunting and skiing !! yippeeee
