I’d travel in those winds without a second thought. I’m travelling in higher today.
We live on a farm in one of the windiest villages in the uk and if we didn’t travel in the wind we’d never go anywhere.
I go the more sheltered routes on days like today though and take my time. But it’s a very personal thing - if you don’t feel confident doing it then don’t.

I had to tow yesterday to take my daughter for her C+ pony club test. 50 minute journey. The winds on the forecast were 47mph max. I was very apprehensive but I needn’t of worried. I tow a hb506 with a Mercedes C class estate (only ever tow one horse) and the car and trailer did not show any signs of movement. I did take it slow and took a route where we were not exposed (all A roads). I wouldn’t hesitate next time but would consider changing routes to avoid exposed heights and motorways where possible.

I think it's worth being cautious and living to fight another day. . WHere I live we had really high winds earlier in the week and I saw a (thankfully empty) livestock trailer tipped over on a not particularly windy stretch of our dual carriageway. The towing vehicle had been turned round in the road but thankfully remained upright, and no other cars were taken out in the process. I got past it just before they shut the road off.
