I have finally made the decision (after a whole summer of not being able to get anywhere) to do my trailer test, agghh!

Had my first lesson with OH today (who is a farmer, and can reverse a trailer with his eyes shut, ohh sooo annoying!), and have come to the conclusion that it is going to take me a very long time to get the hang of it!!

Anyone got any good tips or advice, or can recommend a good trailer school in the south east?!

advice- get proper lessons, you need to know what they want to see in order to pass it, they are quite particular! trailer school should also have cones set up correctly so you can accurately practice the reverse too.

I def think it was worth the money (I passed 1st time)

Def. get proper lessons, the test is very specific and a lot of people who can tow/reverse very well fail on something like stepping over the towbar when hitching/unhitching. Get as much pratice as you like but get some lessons too!! I'm with ester, it was worth the money, I also passed first time and had no experience of towing at all apart from my lessons.

Did you use your own car and trailer combination or use the schools?

If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much did it cost for the course?

schools, you then have the advantage of knowing all the points to look for on the reverse.

£540 for approx 8-10 hours lessons, 2 before and one on test morning. and inc test etc
