Hi,
Does anyone have any experience towing 2 14.2 ponies with a Santa fe? Am thinking of buying one but want to make sure it will cope with my towing needs. It is diesel 2.2 litre. My trailer ( rice) weighs 750 kg and the ponies about 400 each.
Any advice would be welcome.

I tow with a 2001 2 litre diesel Sante Fe. two ponies approx 300kg each or one horse. The limit on my car is 2000kg and it is fine, never had any problems towing. I would prefer a beefier towcar but the budget won't stretch :o

I have 2007 Santa Fe automatic and it has a limit of 2K, which is enough for 2x 14.2 ponies but not much more (unless you have a very lightweight trailer). The manual version can manage more, possibly 2500k

Sorry forgot to add that the Santa Fe has the option to lock the 4WD, which is useful as not all softroaders (or whatever they're called) have. It's a good compromise for towing and normal road use as the fuel ecomony isn't bad.
