Hi,

I have researched the forum and whilst there's similar questions I'm still confused (doesn't take much).

I have done my trailer test, but recently converted a 3.5t van that has 900kg payload. We have also bought a caravan as we go to weekend drives.

With everything loaded up, we'll be heading for full weight. Does that mean we can't tow anything as we would be over our combined 3.5t weight?

Thanks

What is the max towing capacity and GTW of the van?
Towing capacity is listed on the V5 keepers doc
GTW is the second of the 4 figures on the weight plate

Lets say the GTW is 5500 and the GVW is 3500 so that leaves a max towing capacity of 2000 which means you can fully load the van up to 3500 and tow 2000 behind it on your B+E licence

Have fun...look back at my photos on here, you will see me with same set up... we used to have a 2 berth caravan behind my lorry... we used to go away to Polocrosse tournaments with a 3-5 ton lorry with a payload of 1300kg and a 1200kg tow caravan..
