Does anyone tow with an Audi Q5?

I have an ifor williams 505 and only ever travel 1 horse (as he travels without a partition).
I used to have a company car for personal/business use and a Nissan Xtrail as my towing vehicle, however I no longer have the company car and am using the Xtrail for my everyday and towing car.

I want to update it to a) something newer b) something to tow with approx once a week c) something smarter and d) something I enjoy driving (as I loved my company car but find the xtrail a bit tedious).
I've been having a look at my options and so far I've come up with ...

Newer Xtrail (to replace the 2004 I've got)
Audi Q5/Q7
Volvo XC90
Kia Sorrento
Hyundai Santa Fe
BMW X1/X3/X5

I want something that will be as economical as possible on a day to day basis but still have the power for towing when required.
Are there any websites that compare things like towing capacity + fuel economy etc?
Really interested in other peoples opinions/experiences.

Thanks in advance

Yes I tow with a q5 ... It's fab, doesn't feel like a 4 X 4 and a luxurious car without towing. Good fuel economy.

There are no websites that compare towing capacities or fuel economies when towing

B+E licence needed for your set up

A friend of mine had the Q5 for towing and an every day car, she said it towed well. As for the newer X Trail, I believe they have a lower towing capacity than the older models.

I have one! It's fantastic. It literally does everything really well. I get about 40mpg driving round town, and 30 when towing, which I do nearly every week.
I have the 2.0 model and it tows our Rice Richardson Rosette with ease with one pony in it.( I think it would probably take our other chap too, but he's been signed off sick for ages.)
I absolutely love it, but was terrified when I first got it that it would not tow having had Landrovers previously. I wouldn't go back now though!
My tip would be to get a rear bumper protector, as is has about an acre of shiny paint to be scratched whilst getting things in and out of the boot.

Friend tows with a Q3 and I use an X1. Both more than capable of towing 1 horse and drive nicely for everyday.
Mine averages 47mpg on the daily commute. Suspect the Q5 or X3 would be slightly lower mpg but still pretty efficient, and a bit more space if needed.
