Hi there,I'm looking at horse boxes particularly either the Cheval Liberté single or the HB 506 Ifor Williams double; currently we can't stretch to a new car and wondered if anyone had experience of towing similar to above with a NON 4x4 estate car? Our car is a BMW 320d tourer.

any dad used used to tow with a fairly powerful car, but it never felt safe especially if you had to, for example, stop at the lights down a steep hill - the car used to get pushed and swayed by the box at times. I never felt safe doing it and we had some fairly hairy situations at times looking back. it also destroyed the cars and especially the clutches.

Rear wheel drive cars are much better at towing than front wheel drive cars.
Towing with our front wheel drive Montego and Mondeo estates was not very satisfactory. The older rear wheel drive Rovers were much better.

Think that the OP's BMW is rear wheel drive?

Thank you, that's worth knowing.
