Townend Breeches

I brought a pair of the soft shell breeches and found the proportions all wrong for me, too tight on the legs and a large waist. I sent them back and didn't think any other size would fit I am afraid.

Oh dear not what I wanted to hear as I have 'sturdy' legs and a small waist.
Back to the drawing board for a relatively inexpensive pair of warm and water resistant breeches.
I tried the Tallyho ones and the legs were far too small even though it seems all 'normal' breeches fit me perfectly.

Any further suggestions?

That is exactly my problem, large thighs and small waist! I just got some tallyho's for £35 off ebay, I am generally between sizes in breeches so I sized up as recommended and they fit me perfectly. I think the waterproof material makes them quite tight and less stretchy. The most comfy waterproof and warm breeches I have are Kerrits, I think they are sit tight and warm ones.

I love my tally ho breeches but they are not flattering! I had to go up a size as well . They do the job but I look like I am wearing a fat suit! Had been interested in the Townsend ones but will maybe keep looking!

Now looking at Caldene Ladies winter breeches. I think I might give them a try.

With the TallyHo I am normally between sizes and so went for the larger of the two and alas they were still no good. The feel of the material did send me a bit funny too though!
