Have been wanting to find out a bit more about Geoff's past for a while now, but been a bit hesitant to open a can of worms... however would love any information anyone can give me.
His registered name is Praetorian Guard (IRE), by Exit To Nowhere (USA) out of Songs of Innocence (GB) by Salse (USA). He is bay, slightly shy of 17hh and has a star-stripe-snip and a sock on his off fore.
His breeder is listed as James Kinsella, and his passport lists vaccinations mainly in County Antrim. I have also found an owner listing as Stephen Sinclair for 2010.
He ran 8 P2P's over just less than a year, between 13th of April 2009 and 6th April 2010, as a 5 and 6 yo. One third place but nothing else exciting.
I have found an auction listing for the Spring HIT sales in 2010 where he was listed to be sold with Veterinary Certificate alongside another horse from the same stables (Lennymore Stables) called Tuppeny Jack who was noted to have stringhalt, but both were withdrawn from auction, so I don't know whether they were sold privately or kept on. There is no later auction listing for him that I can find.
I got him in November 2012, after he had been with the Scottish SPCA since June 2011, where he had been held for a court case involving illegal transportation and drugs smuggling (hence my reluctance to open a can of worms). The gentleman involved was a dealer, who brought him over from Ireland and the horses were picked up coming off the ferry at Stranraer. So I don't know what happened to him between spring 2010 and June 2011.
He has been diagnosed with EPSM this year, and having sorted than out he is coming on in leaps and bounds, having done his first few SJ/WH/DR/HP over the summer he looks like he's going to be a scopey if not overly bold eventer.
If anyone might know any more about him, either from his P2P days or the lost year, or knows anything about the people I've managed to track so far, please get in touch as I'd love to know more.
