tracing brand marks?

Is there anyway of tracing brand marks on horses?
or is there anyone familiar with a three point brand in the shape of a triangle ? just like 3 air rifle holes?

Thanks for that, but not much help Im affraid.
Am trying to find a little bit of history about a horse I know that has such a brand mark, I am guessing that he is a TB, he came from market so not much known about him,
