I’m currently trying to track down our old pony. We used to live near Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders and after our parents split and each of us daughters going our separate ways we lost touch with Romany who was on permanent loan to a family nearby. I then heard that she went to a riding school nearby and I would really like to track her down and find out how she is. This was all about 8 years ago and as far as I know she is still in the area.

She is a 13.2hh, skewbald with totally unknown breeding who will be 24 now. She will say please with her near foreleg for a polo and tends to rear if she has to go somewhere alone. Very safe out on the roads but known to spook at really scary things like leaves (but fine with massive lorries and tractors… obviously ). Hates men and especially the vet! I’ve attached a few photos of her and if you recognize her or know anyone who does I would love to hear from them.

Thank you to anyone who can give any clues.

Have you tried looking on NED - the National Equine Database? Worth a try. Also you could put an advert in a local horse magazine - someone did that trying to trace a pony that I bought. It was about 15 years after she sold him, but a friend spotted the ad and rang me, so it can work!
