Hi a few months ago I posted about this topic here

and got some really helpful feedback. Anway, this is the result of that

Basically it is looking to see if we actually benefit from the information found by all the annoying questionaires :p that we seem to constantly be answering ;).

It should only take a couple of minutes to fill in (only 9 questions) and I will be eternally grateful to you all :D

I've hit a snag... The answers ('I knew this' and 'I did not know this') to the question with multiple selections about tendons and roadwork don't seem to bear any relation to the question... I'm not sure how to answer it?

I found this rather strangely worded so just put my views in the box available for comments and ticked "I knew this".
 
I've answered the survey, but you might wish to rephrase the options for the questions which start with 'Research shows that...'. The options of 'I knew this' and 'I did not know this' don't make sense in this context! You might get some odd answers as a result. :)

Other than that, in answer to the conundrum of 'Tradition Vs Science', I would say that today's science is tomorrow's tradition. :D

I'm sorry, will perhaps try a rephrase! The I knew this and I did not know this were meant to be in relation to the quoted research and where asking whether people knew that information already.

Will look at rephrasing - thank you all
 
I had fun with that. However, I don't think you'll have fun analysing it as it's not always as straightforward as the options allow :D
 
Did it but sorry also not sure how the 'I knew this' 'I didn't know this'.

I found on one issue the research changed my opinion; one one the research needed to be more detailed and on one I knew this already if that's any help!

PS: I still feel that shock loading of a horse's limbs through long slow roadwork results in a thickening of the tendons, ligaments and increases bone density and is of benefit in any fittening program.

Yup, I agree - it may not have a strengthening effect but it certainly has a conditioning effect on the whole body.
 
Done. Agree about the tendons, even if their not improved there are a load of other benefits so I'd still do it. A quick question about how long you've been around horses might have balanced it, i'm 31 & have been around them since I was 5/6 so I have more old fashioned views than someone who started more recently.
