A shameless "look at my filly I bought" post. I thought she might grey out but pretty sure she won't now, and I think she might be homozygous for tobiano, which means she'll always breed colour!

She'll come home in October when she's weaned. She's a traditional Irish cob, to make about 15 /15.2 hh.

Anyone else buy a foal this year?

She is lovely and has a lovely face. 15hh + will be a good useful height, round here years ago there seemed to be plenty traditional cobs around that height but they seem to be smaller now in general. My 15hh cob is now 21 and retired. Haven't bought a foal this year although there is time yet but I think it's unlikely I will buy another as I've got enough on at the moment but who knows.

Thank you. I'm in Ireland, still harder to find the proper big ones but thankfully there are still a few dedicated breeders like these guys. Full breeding recorded which is hard come by. There were 12 mares to foal, mine was the first to hit the ground and I didn't wait for the rest when I seen her at two weeks old.

Maybe there are a few more of the bigger cobs in Ireland as mine apparently came from Ireland too, he's been a nice sporty cob as well for jumping etc. Mine has no recorded breeding though.

Lovely little filly! I have a 16hh traditional cob and everyone tells me his sort are hard to find now. He is a cracking horse and will do anything for anyone!

I don't have any this year foal pics but here is a just born Bean in Madrid ?View attachment 95975

Just gorgeous! Love the eyelashes ?

Yeah they are hard to find, I'll breed from her at some stage if she turns out good enough. Her full sister looks like she'll make 15.3 or 16 hands ?
