Hey,

Can you please show me some pictures of your cobs?
Show cobs, Traditional etc. Just because I have a coloured mare, but she also has another breed in her but no idea what, so not sure what/or if I can show her etc.

Just want to see what others look like. :D

Thanks in advance.

:) x

This is Stinky, aka Chancer, aka Quite by Chance unless being shown at BSPA shows when he is What a Chance.

Rising 5, going reserve champion (fluke) at Herts County. First time for both of us at county level

Winning the traditional horse in hand championship at BSPA WCC

and finally winning the BSPA WCC family horse championship - I think he is the youngest to do this.

This is Jemima, the mare I had on loan, she is more of a heavyweight than Stinky, wonderful feather, lovely thick and straight, Stinky has fine, very silky and wavy feather, and a very sweet little horse who I adored and would have loved to have kept.

These pictures are really nice thankyou! Lovely horses.

I wish Gypsy grew her mane instead of rubbing it out, and also had decent feathers haha.
Gypsy is deffo crossed with something, maybe a welsh of some kind?

Fingers crossed this works

:D keep the pictures coming, I do like to sethem lol.

Before I got Gypsy I always used to say to myself that id never get a coloured. Now I love them so much! I never thought id end up with Gypsy but as soon as I saw her I loved her lol. :D

Star is a coloured native - less feather than a trad. I think your pony is a coloured native as well. Not a substantial as a Trad Cob, and less feather. I see a Piebald Dales Pony when I look at Star.

Just about every coloured you will see is a mix of breeds, so it's just a matter of establishing what (if you really want to - it's not that important)
What is your pony's feather like? It looks as though you trim it. If you think she has a good dolop of Welsh in there, she won't grow massive amounts of feather, but that's not important as long as you turn her out Welsh style. a bit of judicious trimming can help.
Or - show her plaited.

Gypsy isnt a traditional or a show cob lol, shes a cross with something, these are pictures from the summer where she has no feathers lol, but in the winter they do grow. But im not sure what else goes into her. :( xx

:D I know this is going to sound stupid - HAHA - but .. If you hog a horse for show cobs - do you HAVE to take there forelock off aswell?? :D haha x

Me and my friend's traditional mare at a local show, we were 4th in a mixed ridden/in-hand class (I think it was "Ridden or in hand palomino, dun, coloured or spotted horse or pony" ... not terribly specific lol)

We are sending her to the stallion this year - to Wessel the Freisian. It should be a match made in heaven if things work out!
