Hi traditional/gypsy cob enthusiasts!,
I’m hoping someone can give me some showing advice please?
I have a bay gelding, rising 6, 15.3hh reg’d Part-Bred Welsh (Sire sec D, Dam traditional)
He has a long mane, feathers and looks like a traditional cob. I’d like to start off at local level but don’t know which classes to enter him into?
I think as a Part Bred, he ought to be plaited, trimmed etc which I don’t want to do. What classes do riders of traditional show cobs enter at local level? Is it M & M? I’ve seen a few classes for “cobs” but I’m guessing this is for the hogged variety as I’ve also seen a height limit of 15.1 for one of these classes.
In fact, at 15.3, is he going to be too big anyway? Perhaps it would be OK at some local shows but not at for any national level? Speaking of national level, what’s the situation there?
If anyone can enlighten me, I’d be very grateful! As you can see, I’m pretty clueless!:D
