Hi, was showing today in a coloured traditional/native class. Now I'm not the fatest runner so don't show him to his best, however, I was a little disappointed to have a horse with clipped out legs ahead of me........

My understanding was always that trad should be natural, is feather left on etc, do I have this wrong?

I guess the class was traditional/ native and cob therefore the clipped out cob was shown as a cob not a traditional, it is about the horse with the best conformation, movement and type in the class, not how hairy it is.

If it was an affiliated class or run along affiliated rules then the Show cobs are in with the traditionals and natives. The full name of the class is Traditional, Native and cob class. If it had clipped out legs it should also have been hogged though

No - affiliated shows NEVER show Show Cobs alongside traditionals/natives! They are two very separate classes and very very different types. However, traditionals can be shown as 'fuzzies' I believe which are those that are growing out their hair. It should after all be type as well as how much hair they have.

They are in the coloured classes! both CHAPS and BSPA put the hogged cobs in with the traditionals. If you read the OP correctly he clearly says it was a coloured class not a straight Show cob class.
I've never ever heard of a Fuzzie.

Ours has been placed at the top shows in the pony CHAPs and BSPA native trad and cob class, hogged and clipped ;) They're certainly mixed. Sadly the hogged ones are often over powered by flashy traditional but we're still hoping to get him to RIHS again :)

yes it seems that way in the pony NCT class but seems to be the opposite in the NCT horse classes
