Went off to Blewbury today to try and get my novice qualification for TB.
Arrived in plenty of time to give Honey a good warm up, so could do some leg yeilding and pirouettes that i'd been doing in my lessons.
First test was Prelim 10 and it was a good test. I felt it to be more uphill than previous tests but the judge disagreed. She said Honey was on the forehand; Honey is never on her forehand!! Anyway we got 60% bit gutted as its the worst mark she has had for a while!
Next test was novice 21, rode Honey on a shorter contact and more determined. This worked, she came out with 65% so managed to get my TB qualification

Wasn't impressed by the judging today, if you were a Blewbury person you did very well! One horse got 75% and won the novice but did no medium trot, went wrong and didn't look like a 75% test!!
Also got commented that I walked into my halt but i always believed at prelim the transistion could be progressive!

Well done

My instructor always encourages me to walk into halt, and she is a listed BD judge.

Cant stand it when the judging is "fixed"....happened to me not long ago - thought my pony did a lovely test worthy of about 65%, but he didnt even get 60%! Wouldnt have minded, but watched other club members do their test (im not a member), some of which looked like they had come straight from a riding school on similar level horses, yet were getting 75% and onwards!! They were as shocked as i was!

I'm just ignoring todays judges as I know Honey went well, which is the important thing.
in the comment at the end of the sheet all the judge could say was well turned out and lacked impulsion! Honey rarely lacks implusion. oh well it was just one of those days
